The research arm of , Cape Cod Research, began developing antifouling coatings with funding from the Navy in 1985. Since that time, the company has been awarded numerous contracts to research novel methods of biofouling control, and has launched an independent research and development effort.
has developed specialty antifouling coatings for the United States Coast Guard, The United States Navy, and oceanographic institutions. The ongoing research has resulted in three patents.
currently has several products registered with the EPA. Other products are undergoing further development or are under EPA review.
